Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 2, 2026

This policy explains how Ainuverse handles information in two separate contexts: this website, and the AinuVision Edge software that runs on your own hardware. The distinction matters — so please read Sections 1 and 2 first.

The short version. AinuVision Edge is on-premise software. Your camera feeds, recordings, snapshots, alerts, search data and facial-recognition data are created and stored entirely on the machine you operate, inside your own network. We never receive, transmit, host or have access to that content. The only data that reaches us is what you send through this website (for example, a demo request) and the license information the software exchanges to activate and stay licensed.

1.Who we are

Ainuverse LLC ("Company", "Ainuverse", "we", "us", "our") provides AinuVision Edge, on-premise AI video-intelligence software, and operates this website. AinuVision Edge lets you describe what to watch for in plain language, receive real-time alerts, and search your recorded footage by description or by an enrolled face — all running on a single machine on your own site.

This Privacy Policy describes the personal information we handle and your rights in relation to it. It should be read together with our Terms of Use. We handle personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, which — depending on where you and the individuals in your footage are located — may include the EU / UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable local laws.

2.Scope: two different contexts

Because AinuVision Edge is deployed on infrastructure that you control, our relationship to your data differs depending on the context:

A. This website

When you visit this website or submit a demo request, we act as the data controller for the limited personal information you provide or that is collected automatically. Sections 3 and 7–15 describe that handling.

B. The AinuVision Edge software

When AinuVision Edge is installed and operated, it runs on your hardware, inside your network. For the video, recordings, images, biometric data and other content the software processes, you (the organisation that deploys and operates it) are the data controller, and Ainuverse is only the provider of the software. We do not receive or process that content on your behalf. Section 4 explains this in detail, and Section 5 describes the only data the software does exchange with us (licensing).

3.Information we collect through this website

Demo requests & enquiries

When you submit the "Request a Demo" form or email us, we collect the details you provide: your name, work email, company, phone number (optional) and your indicated number of cameras. Form submissions are delivered to us through a third-party form-delivery service (see Section 8). We use these details only to respond to you and arrange a demo.

Usage & analytics data

Like most websites, we automatically collect limited technical information such as pages viewed, referring source, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and interaction events. This is collected through Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics. When a demo request is submitted, we record a conversion event ("demo_request") used to measure the performance of our advertising.

Direct communications

If you contact us by email, we keep that correspondence and the contact details it contains so we can respond and maintain a record of our dealings with you.

4.Data handled on your premises by the software

AinuVision Edge is designed so that your surveillance data never leaves your environment. All of the following are created, processed and stored solely on the machine(s) you operate, within your own network:

  • Live camera streams and any recordings, clips and snapshots;
  • Detections, alert rules (the plain-language text you write), fired-alert notifications and confidence scores;
  • The searchable data AinuVision generates from your footage, and your search queries;
  • Enrolled reference images and the biometric templates derived from them (see Section 6).

We do not receive this content. Ainuverse does not host, upload, mirror, collect or otherwise have access to your video, images, recordings, detections or biometric data through the normal operation of the software. It stays on your hardware and under your control. Because we never hold it, we cannot access it in response to a third-party request, and it is not part of any cloud service operated by us.

The software can operate offline on your local network once activated. Any outbound connections it makes for optional features you enable — for example, sending alert emails through an SMTP server, or connecting to a VMS/NVR or camera — use the endpoints you configure and are governed by your arrangements with those providers, not by Ainuverse.

5.Licensing & activation data

The one exception to Section 4 is licensing. To authorise a deployment, prevent unlicensed use, and provide support, the software exchanges a small amount of technical data with our licensing service during installation, activation and periodic re-validation:

  • your license key;
  • device and hardware identifiers used to activate and validate your license.

At no point is any of your video, imagery, recordings, detections, search data or biometric data transmitted to us as part of licensing, activation, updates or re-validation. We use licensing data only to manage entitlements, prevent unauthorised use, detect abuse and provide support.

6.Facial recognition & biometric data

AinuVision Edge includes an optional facial-recognition feature. Where you enable it, you can enrol people from a photo; the software derives a biometric template that it uses to help search your own recorded footage.

Enrolled images and biometric templates are stored only on your hardware. As with all other content in Section 4, we never receive or have access to them.

Biometric data is treated as sensitive personal information under many laws (for example, "special category" data under the EU/UK GDPR, and biometric-privacy statutes such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act). Because you decide who is enrolled and for what purpose, you are the data controller for this data and are responsible for:

  • establishing a valid lawful basis and providing any required notices;
  • obtaining any consent required in your jurisdiction before enrolling a person;
  • setting appropriate retention periods and deleting biometric data when it is no longer needed.

The software provides controls to enrol and to delete enrolled people and their templates so you can meet these obligations.

7.How we use information

We use the website and licensing information described in Sections 3 and 5 to:

  • respond to demo requests, enquiries and support requests;
  • issue, activate, validate and manage software licenses, and deliver updates;
  • measure and improve our website and advertising;
  • protect the security and integrity of our website and licensing systems, and detect and prevent abuse or fraud;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

8.Third-party services

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We rely on a small number of service providers to operate the website and licensing, and we share only what is necessary for each:

ProviderPurpose
VercelHosting and delivery of this website
Form-delivery providerDelivering "Request a Demo" form submissions to us
Google (Tag Manager, Analytics & Ads)Website analytics and advertising conversion measurement
Amazon Web ServicesCloud hosting and delivery of software and updates

We do not share your video content, recordings, search queries or biometric data with any third party — because, as explained above, we never receive them. We may disclose the limited information we do hold if required by law, subpoena or court order, or to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights.

9.Data retention

Website data. We keep demo requests and correspondence for as long as necessary to respond and to maintain reasonable business and accounting records, after which we delete or anonymise them. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's settings.

Licensing data. We retain licensing and activation records for the duration of the license and as long as needed for support, accounting and legal compliance.

On-premise content. Retention of footage, recordings, alerts, search data and biometric data on your deployment is entirely under your control. We have no role in, and no ability to influence, how long that data is kept on your systems.

10.Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to the information we hold, including HTTPS/TLS for data in transit to this website and our licensing service, access controls, and signed license tokens.

Security of your AinuVision Edge deployment and the data on it is governed by your own environment. We recommend running it on a secured, access-controlled network segment, restricting who can reach the application, and keeping the host system patched. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11.Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. For EU/EEA and UK residents (GDPR), you may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. For California residents (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to know what is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell or share personal information.

To exercise these rights in relation to information we hold (website and licensing data), contact us at contact@ainuverse.com.

If your request concerns footage or biometric data held within an AinuVision Edge deployment, please note that we do not hold that data. Such requests should be directed to the organisation that operates the deployment (the data controller). We will provide reasonable assistance to that operator where appropriate.

12.International transfers

The limited website and licensing data we hold may be processed in countries where we and our service providers operate, which may be outside your country of residence. Where required, we put in place appropriate safeguards for such transfers. Content processed by the software stays wherever you deploy it.

13.Cookies

This website uses cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary for it to function, and analytics cookies via Google to understand aggregate traffic and measure advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how the website works.

14.Children's privacy

This website and AinuVision Edge are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

15.Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" above shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and where appropriate we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of the website or the software after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
